You are welcome to use Stretchy Maps for personal, educational, research and professional purposes, and to share screenshots or recordings of maps in classes, reports, articles and social media. Please credit “Stretchy Maps (stretchymaps.com)” and the underlying data source shown on each map’s page.
Data and accuracy
Maps are illustrations built from third-party data, listed on the sources page under their own licences. We work to keep them accurate, but data can be incomplete or out of date and shapes are approximations. Don’t rely on them for decisions where accuracy matters without checking the original data.
Our work
The site’s code, design and pre-computed maps are © 2026 Stretchy Maps. The mathematics behind them is published and free for anyone to use; see How it works.
Fair use of the site
Don’t scrape or bulk-download the site’s data files, overload the site with automated requests, or try to disrupt it.
Liability
The site is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from its use. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. These terms are governed by Australian law.
